Players can also access an Assist Mode, where they can change some attributes about the game’s physics. Some of these include infinite air-dashes, invincibility, or slowing the game’s speed. Hidden throughout most “A-Side” chapters of the game are optional strawberries, obtained through challenging platforming or puzzle solving sections, which slightly affect the game’s ending depending on how many are collected, as well as a cassette tape that unlocks a “B-Side”, a secret level which provides harder platforming puzzles using the mechanics introduced in the A-Side.Brutal B-side chapters to unlock, built for only the bravest mountaineers .IGF “Excellence in Audio” finalist, with over 2 hours of original music led by dazzling live piano and catchy synth beats.

Let’s get this out of this out of the way, this game is difficult. But it isn’t frustrating. The mechanics are lenient and fair, and the controls are incredibly well made, so that it’s just fun to move around. The chapters and rooms are difficult, but are always fun, and the game has a sky high skill ceiling. In addition to game play, the story is insightful and inspiring, and the characters are fleshed out and likeable, even though there isn’t a lot of dialogue for many of them. The music as well supplements the story and mood to even greater heights, enhancing each moment to something far greater than before.
