Play the full campaign in online co-op or single-player. Easily drop in and drop out of play. Head planet-side to discover underworld cities and accept side missions. Explore the frozen terrain, and search abandoned encampments. Uncover the past, discover the source of the Necromorph terror, and fight to fend off the extinction of the human race. Craft unique weapons by gathering components. Combine, reconfigure, and upgrade your favorites.

Not a terrible game but not a good one either. As a single-player experience, this game is super forgettable. Quite a shame considering how good DS2 was. As a co-op game, this is half-way decent, but the side-missions are copy-pasted 10x. Not good. There’s nothing compelling about John Carver’s story btw. The story overall ends in a big unsatisfying cliff-hanger as well. Contrary to my expectations, the DLC actually made this worse. If you’re a fan of the series, don’t play this looking for closure: you won’t find it. Dead Space: a very good survival-horror series, reduced to a mediocre co-op action series by EA meddling.
